Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Veritas Christian). They put the hurt on the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes with a sharp 16-9 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Shaphan Ming made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, James Lee was incredible, going 3-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cale Whitaker, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
