The Filer Wildcats will challenge the Cole Valley Christian Chargers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Filer and Buhl have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. Everything went Filer's way against Buhl as Filer made off with a 16-10 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the game before.

Madilyne Dyer was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Alexis Gould was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 4-for-5.
Filer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buhl only posted an OBP of .447.
Meanwhile, Cole Valley Christian came tearing into Friday's contest with 19 straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 7-4. Seven seems to be a good number for the Chargers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Addy Herrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, Cole Valley Christian got a big performance out of Brinkley Lauderdale, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbie English, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
Cole Valley Christian pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Filer, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Filer skirted past Cole Valley Christian 22-21 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Filer since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
