Baseball Recap: Weston Extends Winning Streak to Three

Weston waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Simsboro Tigers with a sharp 18-4 win. Considering the Wolves have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Liam Weaver made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Bryce Zehr was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four runs, two triples, and four RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Tolar, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Weston hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Weston's record is now 12-6. As for Simsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weston will head out to square off against West Ouachita at 6:00 p.m. on March 21st. As for Simsboro, they will face off against Rayville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
