St. Patrick enjoyed a cozy 72-54 victory over West Marion on Friday. Given St. Patrick's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while West Marion is ranked 273rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Matt Krass, who scored 41 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of St. Patrick's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Moton, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
St. Patrick is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for West Marion, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Perry Central the next time they take the court. St. Patrick will head out to face Perry Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while West Marion will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
