Basketball Recap: Timberlake Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Timberlake won the last time they faced Genesis Prep Academy, and Tyler Engelson did his part to make sure it happened again. The Timberlake Tigers came out on top against the Genesis Prep Academy Jaguars by a score of 91-83 on Thursday thanks in part to Engelson, who went 9 for 15 from beyond the arc on his way to 50 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Maximilian Simpson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.

Genesis Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gabe Meyer, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Spencer Farrell, who put up 18 points.

Timberlake has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Genesis Prep Academy, they dropped their record down to 7-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Timberlake will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Genesis Prep Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-52 win against Wallace on the 24th.
