Horizon is 2-8 against Ysleta since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Horizon Scorpions will head out on the road to face off against the Ysleta Indians at 6:00 p.m. Horizon is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Horizon's offense. Their rough 11-0 loss to Del Valle on Wednesday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Horizon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 609th, while Del Valle is ranked 119th).
Meanwhile, Ysleta has not won a game since January 11th, a trend which continued on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to Parkland.
Horizon's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7-1. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only scored zero goals over those four contests. As for Ysleta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-2 record this season.
Horizon suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Ysleta in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Horizon was down 3-0.
