Oasis Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nic Place, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Place has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cole Durden, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Saint Stephen's Episcopal was led to victory by Will Deprenger and Nick Yatros. Deprenger scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Yatros dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Deprenger scored 15 or more points. Jack Horn was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Oasis Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oasis Christian and Geneva Classical Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Geneva Classical Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Parrish Community at 7:00 p.m. Parrish Community presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Saint Stephen's Episcopal in Florida (Parrish Community is ranked 267th, while Saint Stephen's Episcopal is ranked 676th).
