Thorp is 2-8 against Cadott since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Thorp Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Cadott Hornets at 7:15 p.m. Thorp is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
Thorp suffered their biggest loss yet this season last Tuesday. They were dealt a 92-23 loss at the hands of McDonell Central. While losing is never fun, Thorp can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while McDonell Central is ranked 12th).
Meanwhile, after only 18 points in their last contest, Cadott made sure to put some points up on the board against Mondovi on Monday. Cadott walked away with a 56-46 victory over Mondovi.
Cadott's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bradee Burish, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Burish hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Tarynn Donahue was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Thorp bumped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cadott, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Thorp was taken down by Cadott 62-35 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Thorp avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
