Bryce Nannenga and Christian Hughes certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Nannenga scored 14 points along with 5 assists, while Hughes scored 4 points. The game was Nannenga's third in a row with at least ten points.
West Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Marquette Catholic pulled down 11.
Marquette Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah Mays led the charge by scoring 19 points along with 6 rebounds. Colson Dobre was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
West Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Marquette Catholic, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Central will challenge South Newton at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
