Those three hits gave Fielding a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hunter Blackner, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Cedar lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, West Field made easy work of Sky View on Friday and carried off a 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Brinklee Hadley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, West Field let Brylee Leatherwood and Ayzlee Sessions run wild. Leatherwood went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Sessions went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Kam Bell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Cedar's record now sits at 24-5. As for West Field, their record is now 17-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cedar hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .376. However, it's not like West Field struggles in that department as they've averaged .380. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
