Softball Recap: Centennial Extends Winning Streak to Five

Centennial entered their tilt with Seguin on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Cougars 17-1. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matches by six runs or more this season.

Centennial got a massive performance out of Madelyn Hickey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Hickey has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Arthur, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple.

Hickey wasn't the only one making solid contact: Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 14 consecutive contests.

Centennial's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Seguin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on Everman at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Seguin, they will challenge Joshua at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
