Softball Recap: Rocklin Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Rocklin came out on top against Davis Sr. on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Thunder were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Blue Devils. Considering the Thunder have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Payton Prior was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Prior was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Katie Wetteland was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Savannah Lorenzini, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Rocklin lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Davis Sr. didn't launched any home runs.

The win was the third in a row for Rocklin, bringing their record up to 18-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Davis Sr., they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13-1 record this season.

Rocklin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-3 win against Whitney on the 7th. As for Davis Sr., they have also already played their next game, a 9-9 tie against St. Francis on the 7th.
