The Bangs Dragons will venture away from home to face off against the Cisco Loboes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bangs has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Cisco will arrive with five straight wins.
Bangs lost 20-5 to Ballinger on Monday.
Bangs saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cheyenne Rush, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those RBI marked the first that Rush has brought in this season. Justice Baker was another, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Cisco got the win against Strawn on Monday by a conclusive 12-1. The Loboes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Aubrey Corpus was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on AJ Pevey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Malcuit, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Cisco's record is now 8-6-2. As for Bangs, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bangs hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Cisco struggles in that department as they've averaged .406. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bangs came out on top in a nail-biter against Cisco when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
