Softball Recap: Summerfield Extends Winning Streak to Four

Summerfield came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Castor Tigers with a sharp 9-2 win. That's more bragging rights for the Rebels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Summerfield pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Castor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summerfield will host North Webster at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Castor, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Castor Tigers challenge Cedar Creek Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
