Mead wouldn't go down easily and took Holy Family into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-18, 15-25, 25-22, 18-16.
Legacy will need to focus on slowing down Alana Costello, one of several Mead players who made an impact when they last played. She had 18 digs and two aces. Costello is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Cailin Hall was another key player, hitting 63% for 18 kills and 13 digs, five aces, and three blocks.
Mead's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
