Meanwhile, Wewoka's hitters rose to the challenge against a Falcons pitching crew that boasted an average of only 2.9 points allowed on Tuesday. Wewoka won by a run and slipped past New Lima 11-10. The win was just what Wewoka needed coming off of a 27-4 defeat in their prior game.
Griffen Young made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also only allowed one walk). Young was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with a stolen base, two RBI, and a double.
In other batting news, Wewoka got a massive performance out of Eyan Norman, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-3. Camron Cambell was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and a triple.
Okemah's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Wewoka, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
