Richards posted their closest win since April 24th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South Meteors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in March.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Richards got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 26-24, 23-25, 29-27.

Despite the defeat, Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Luis Prieto had 15 digs and three aces. Raysean Finch also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Richards pushed their record up to 10-14 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Richards wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Oak Forest on the 8th. As for Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Shepard on the 8th.
