The Grassfield Grizzlies can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Western Branch with a sharp 64-39 victory. The victory was nothing new for Grassfield as they're now sitting on three straight.
Grassfield was led to victory by Lauren Priester and Amaya Fisher. Priester scored 18 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Fisher scored 20 points along with four steals. Priester is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kameron Dyes was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Grassfield is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Western Branch, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grassfield will take on Lakeland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grassfield is facing Lakeland at the right time seeing as Lakeland is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Western Branch, they will head out on the road to square off against Nansemond River at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nansemond River presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Western Branch in Virginia (Nansemond River is ranked 49th, while Western Branch is ranked 149th).
