The Timnath Cubs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Brush, falling 44-17.
Although Timnath took the loss, they still got scores from Carter Gaines and Mitchell Deangelis.
Brush got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tanner Ludgate out in front who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Ludgate's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ritchie Bruno, who rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Timnath's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 University (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63% over those games). As for Brush, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Timnath does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brush is on the road again on Saturday and play against Rifle at 1:00 p.m. on November 4th. Rifle is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
