Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Chiawana Riverhawks, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 24-14 to Gonzaga Prep on Saturday. Chiawana's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Chiawana lost, one person who can't be blamed is Braxton Feldmann. Despite the final result, he rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Chiawana's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Gonzaga Prep, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Chiawana does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gonzaga Prep will face off against Graham-Kapowsin at TBD on Saturday. Graham-Kapowsin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 292 points over their last seven matchups.
