The Cornerstone Charter Cardinals's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against Triad Math and Science Academy by a score of 62-51. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Cornerstone Charter considering their 14-point performance the matchup before.
Leading Cornerstone Charter to victory were Spencer Knight and D'Trevion Harris. Knight dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Harris dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Knight has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Cole, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Cornerstone Charter's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12. As for Triad Math and Science Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Charter will challenge the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Carver focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Triad Math and Science Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Millennium has now lost 16 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 13.
