The Rock Creek Academy Lions had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Christian Academy 57-25 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-4.
Leading Rock Creek Academy to victory were jayli smith and Nevaeh McWilliams. smith scored 12 points along with eight rebounds, while McWilliams scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Byars, who scored 11 points.
Despite the defeat, Christian Academy had strong showings from Carly Stevens, who scored five points along with four steals, and Leah Stevens , who scored seven points.
Rock Creek Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.
Rock Creek Academy will head out on the road to face off against Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Southwestern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Central is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
