Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is North Central's Fifth in Last Six Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Central had no problem doing just that on Monday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Lawrence North Wildcats. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 6-1 win back in April.

North Central let Rykin Matthias and Garrity Ullom run wild. Matthias went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Ullom went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Tanner Wilson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

North Central has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Lawrence North, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-15.

As of now, neither North Central nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
