Westville hasn't had much luck against Glenn recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blackhawks will venture away from home to take on the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. Westville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Westville will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against South Shore Homeschool Athletics on Monday. The Blackhawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 10-0 shutout. The victory was some much needed relief for the Blackhawks as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Mark Krichkan made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Westville is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-8 otherwise. Krichkan was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Kozub, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Ryder Becker was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Westville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Glenn came up short against Boone Grove on Saturday, falling 13-1.
Westville's record is now 5-9. As for Glenn, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 5-9.
Westville's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. The Blackhawks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Glenn, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Westville continue to outrun the ball?
Westville suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Glenn when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Blackhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
