The Piqua Indians were the 68-48 winner over the Sidney Yellowjackets when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Piqua ended up on the wrong side of a rough 60-37 walloping at the hands of Sidney on Friday. Piqua has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Piqua still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Martin, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Romen Medley, who scored five points along with four steals.
Piqua's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Sidney, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piqua will finish 2023 at home by hosting Meadowdale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meadowdale is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Sidney will finish 2023 at home by hosting Butler at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Butler will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
