The Sterne Dolphins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-26 walloping at the hands of Lycee Francais. If Sterne was looking for revenge after losing 50-34 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
When it comes to explaining why Sterne lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rico Duenas. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Duenas continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.
Sterne's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Lycee Francais, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Sterne will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Wallenberg's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests. Lycee Francais' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. KIPP SF College Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
