Clearview is 0-10 against Keystone since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Clippers are taking a road trip to face off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Clearview has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Clearview is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They lost 15-1 to Black River.
Clearview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amor' Ruiz, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Keystone waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 8-3.
Brooklyn Modock was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Modock was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs.
In other batting news, Jordan Owca was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bristol Foster, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Keystone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Keystone's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Clearview, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clearview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Keystone struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Clearview suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Keystone when the teams last played back in April. Can the Clippers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
