The Saguaro Sabercats lost against the New Trier Trevians back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Saguaro had to suffer through a rough 66-34 loss at the hands of New Trier. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Saguaro has scored all season.
Saguaro's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Whitaker, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Miller, who scored nine points.
Saguaro's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for New Trier, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saguaro will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McClintock at 4:00 p.m. on December 26th. New Trier is on the road again on Thursday and play against Evanston at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st.
