With a playoff win on the line, Daniel rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 77-63 win over the Southside Tigers. The Lions are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.
Daniel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Will Swann out in front who shot 60% from the field on his way to 24 points and six boards. That's the most points Swann has posted since back in January of 2025. James Epting was another key player, going 5-for-6 en route to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.
Daniel was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southside only racked up eight.
Southside's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Simmons, who scored 12 points along with five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance King, who earned 12 points.
Daniel's win bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Southside, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.
Looking ahead, Daniel will challenge Fountain Inn on Saturday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Fury have now posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. Southside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
