The Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs only won by two when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 43-point they dealt the Perry Meridian Falcons on Friday. Franklin Community simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Perry Meridian 67-24 at home. Given Franklin Community's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Perry Meridian is ranked 316th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wyatt Nickleson was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Davis, who scored ten points.
The victory made it two in a row for Franklin Community and bumps their season record up to 15-3. As for Perry Meridian, their loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Community will take on Plainfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Franklin Community knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Plainfield likes a good challenge. Perry Meridian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Decatur Central at 7:30 p.m. on February 16th.
