The Heavener Wolves will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Wilburton Diggers at 7:30 p.m. Heavener is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
Heavener suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Pocola 73-45. Heavener has struggled against Pocola recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Bryce Morrison, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Zaid Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wilburton beat Stigler 54-48 on Tuesday. The win was just what Wilburton needed coming off of a 91-48 loss in their prior match.
Heavener's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Wilburton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Everything came up roses for Heavener against Wilburton when the teams last played on January 2nd as the squad secured a 58-26 victory. Does Heavener have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wilburton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
