Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Pendleton

Pendleton waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Palmetto Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-8 back in March.

Ayden Clay made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clay was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Cody Williams was excellent, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Barrett Reeves, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Pendleton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Pendleton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-10. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Palmetto, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pendleton will square off against Liberty at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Palmetto, they will face off against Walhalla at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
