Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Makes It Six in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Hillcrest, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Tooele Buffaloes with a sharp 58-33 win on Tuesday. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Among those leading the charge was Thomas Ashby, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezra Bell, who scored ten points.

Despite the loss, Tooele had strong showings from Crew Lewis, who put up ten points, and Grady Symonds, who had eight points and 11 boards. Braxton Polson also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first board of the season.

Hillcrest's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Tooele, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Hillcrest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-49 defeat against Murray on the 17th. As for Tooele, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st. Tooele is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.
