There's no place like home for St. Monica, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Serra Cavaliers with a sharp 82-56 victory on Monday. The Mariners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

St. Monica moved to 15-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Serra, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-12.

St. Monica and Serra could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. St. Monica (ranked 129th) will meet St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy (ranked 43rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Serra will square off against St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 423 places (553 vs. 130).
