Prosser hasn't had much luck against Othello recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Mustangs will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Huskies at 11:00 a.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
22 must be Prosser's lucky number: they beat Grandview with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 22-5 margin over the Greyhounds. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Layla Barnhart, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lina Lefebvre, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.
Prosser was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Othello). They put the hurt on Quincy with a sharp 20-3 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.
Kenzie Martinez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Martinez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Alizay Pruneda was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Imani Quezada was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Othello now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Prosser, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Prosser has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Othello struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Prosser suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Othello in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
