Princeton took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Wyoming East, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Warriors 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since October 12, 2024.

Princeton was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (56-51), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 8-25, 28-26, 15-5.

When it comes to explaining why Wyoming East lost on Thursday, don't look at Lauren Staton. Despite the final result, she had 11 assists and four aces. Staton is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season.

Princeton's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Wyoming East, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Princeton is taking a road trip to take on Oak Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wyoming East, they will be playing at home against Independence at 5:30 p.m. on September 5.
