The Seaford Bluejays put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Forest and snuck past 65-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Seaford to victory were Vincent Evans and Omari Nichols. Evans scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals, while Nichols dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. Evans hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Jordan Smith, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Seaford pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Lake Forest, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-1.
Seaford will take on the Spartans at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lake Forest, they will head out on the road to challenge the Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Delaware (Milford is ranked 33rd, while the Spartans are ranked 17th).
