The Fabens Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Austin Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fabens is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 26.8 points per game this season.

Fabens will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Mountain View, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 26-6 margin over the Lobos on Friday. The Wildcats not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 20, 2024 (when they won 42-7).

Fabens' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jesus Martinez, who rushed for 82 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 117 yards and one TD. Martinez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Julio Martinez was another key rusher, gaining 139 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fabens was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Austin lost to Ysleta on the road by a 43-28 margin on Friday.

The victory (which was Fabens' third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Austin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Fabens was dealt a bruising 42-14 defeat at the hands of Austin in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wildcats were down 35-7.
