Putnam is 1-9 against Killingly since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Putnam Clippers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Killingly Redmen at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Putnam is ranked 152nd, while Killingly is ranked 153rd).
Last Friday, Putnam came up short against Lyman Memorial and fell 49-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Putnam has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Killingly scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Bacon Academy as Killingly made off with a 68-44 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Killingly as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Putnam now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Killingly, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Putnam came up short against Killingly in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 56-52. Can Putnam avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
