The George County Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the Hancock Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hancock took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on George County, who comes in off a win.
George County came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Long Beach by a score of 59-51 on Tuesday. The victory was just what George County needed coming off of a 57-34 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Hancock suffered a tough 51-31 defeat at the hands of the Red Rebels on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Hancock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Red Rebels are ranked 29th).
George County's victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Hancock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.
George County came up short against the Hawks when the teams last played last Thursday, falling 56-48. Can George County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
