Blue Mountain has won four straight games at home, while Oxbow has won four straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Bucks will host the Olympians at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Blue Mountain and Richford meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again last Monday. The Bucks put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 15-1 victory.
Kaylee Hamlett was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
In other batting news, Ava Kingsbury was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Addison Murray was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Oxbow made easy work of North Country Union on Tuesday and carried off a 13-1 win.
Like Blue Mountain, Oxbow also got a great game from a two-way player: Anastase Bourgeois. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Bourgeois has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Mazie Bourgeois was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mackenna Houston, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Oxbow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive games.
Oxbow's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Blue Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Blue Mountain has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Oxbow struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 1.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Blue Mountain couldn't quite finish off Oxbow in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Will the Bucks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
