Softball Recap: Lompoc Has No Trouble Against Mission College Prep

Lompoc barely beat Mission College Prep the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Braves blew past the Royals 11-4 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won eight in a row.

Alex Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emma White was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Day, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Lompoc's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Mission College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lompoc will head out to take on Righetti at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Braves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mission College Prep, they are taking a road trip to face off against Arroyo Grande at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
