The Walker Valley Mustangs will face off against the Chattanooga Christian Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Walker Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
While Walker Valley's win against Rhea County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs skirted past the Golden Eagles 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Chattanooga Christian can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Girls Prep by a score of 8-4.
Chattanooga Christian also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Kylie Black gave up three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Black has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mary Katherine Flowers was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Millie Fox, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Chattanooga Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 13-3 when they post 11 or more hits.
Walker Valley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Chattanooga Christian, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Walker Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Chattanooga Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .382. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Walker Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Chattanooga Christian in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
