Douglass has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the KIPP Collegiate phoenix at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Douglass has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Douglass won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune last Tuesday. They suffered a rough 78-55 defeat at the hands of Trezevant. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
KIPP Collegiate suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Trezevant, falling 78-11. KIPP Collegiate has not had much luck with Trezevant recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Douglass' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2. As for KIPP Collegiate, they bumped their record down to 1-10 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road.
Douglass took a serious blow against KIPP Collegiate in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 49-21. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Douglass was down 31-7.
