It was a good run, but the Jellico Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 83-66 bruising from Clay County. Jellico was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clay County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Saturday.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was John Zecchini, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Zecchini is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Mcnealy, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Jellico smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Jellico's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-10. As for Clay County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.
Jellico does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clay County also has no future games currently scheduled.
