Basketball Recap: Abbeville Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Shelby Wright and Amari George

Abbeville Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 55-31 to the Evangel Christian Academy Lions. The Generals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Abbeville Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Amari George and Shelby Wright. George almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards, while Wright posted seven points and four steals. Those four steals gave Wright a new career-high.

Abbeville Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Abbeville Christian Academy will host Southwest Georgia Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest Georgia Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Abbeville Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they will welcome Cornerstone Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
