Arcola won against Cerro Gordo/Bement  on Wednesday with 15  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Thursday. Everything went the Purple Riders' way against the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights as they made off with  a  15-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Purple Riders, who have now won 14 contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Tanner Thomas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Brody Phillips and  Brevyn Whisman did most of the damage at the plate:  Phillips  went 3-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI, while  Whisman  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  double.  DJ Stevens was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Arcola was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .485. The last time their  batting average was this high was  back in May of 2024.
