The Brookville Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Punxsutawney Chucks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Brookville sitting on six straight wins and Punxsutawney on four.
Last Friday, Brookville humbled Karns City with a 44-14 victory. The result was nothing new for Brookville, who have now won five matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Charlie Krug had an outrageously good game as he threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Sam Krug also helped out as he racked up 116 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Punxsutawney blew past Moniteau, posting a 49-6 victory on the road. Given Punxsutawney's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Moniteau is ranked 501st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Landon Martz was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Beau Thomas also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Brookville's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. They've been dominating across those contests too: they took their wins by an average of 22 points. Punxsutawney has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first eight matchups, giving them a 6-2 record.
Brookville came up short against Punxsutawney when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 21-13. Can Brookville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
