The Rangeview Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Thornton Trojans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Rangeview not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1, 2025 (when they won 10-0). Everything went their way against Overland as they made off with a 21-11 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Trailblazers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Emmanuel De La Torre made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ryan Luevanos was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Sam Rashchuk also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Rangeview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Overland only posted an OBP of .500.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thornton). They blew past Manual 23-4 on Friday. With that win, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.
Ian Ruiz made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Thornton got a massive performance out of Diego Aquino, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. With that strong performance, Aquino is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Stehle, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Thornton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rangeview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Thornton struggles in that department as they've averaged .510. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rangeview beat Thornton 5-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
