The Dreyfoos School of the Arts Jaguars were the 52-44 winner over the Boca Raton Christian Blazers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Dreyfoos School of the Arts was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 51-50 to Boca Raton Christian. Dreyfoos School of the Arts' defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it four in a row.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nate Goldin, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zidane Guerrier, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Dreyfoos School of the Arts smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boca Raton Christian only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boca Raton Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Good, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Good hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Guemsley Carrie, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts dropped their record down to 6-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Boca Raton Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Village Academy at 7:30 p.m. Village Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Boca Raton Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jupiter Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Jupiter Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday.
